Following through on that commitment, legions of Team Depot volunteers, backed by The Home Depot Foundation, work tirelessly on their own free time to help our nation’s veterans and communities across the country.įrom those two stores in Atlanta, Home Depot has grown to more than 2,300 stores in three countries, but in every store, our goal is the same: to earn our customers’ respect by offering the highest level of service, the broadest selection of products and the most competitive prices. After The Home Depot went public in 1981, Marcus and Blank made a commitment to give back to the communities where their stores were located. These commitments were an extension of the company’s “whatever it takes” philosophy.īut that philosophy extended beyond the store walls. Marcus and Blank implemented a customer “bill of rights,” which stated that customers should always expect the best assortment, quantity and price, as well as the help of a trained sales associate, when they visit a Home Depot store. Soon, The Home Depot began offering DIY clinics, customer workshops and one-on-one sessions with customers. It wasn’t enough to sell or even tell - associates also had to be able to show. But the heart of Home Depot was the expertly trained floor associates who could teach customers how to handle a power tool, change a fill valve or lay tile. The 60,000-square-foot warehouses dwarfed the competition with more items than any other hardware store. With help from investment banker Ken Langone and merchandising guru Pat Farrah, Marcus and Blank opened the first two Home Depot stores in Atlanta the following year. Employees would not only be able to sell, but they would also be able to walk customers at every skill level through most any home repair or improvement. Avid DIYers, they envisioned a superstore that would offer a huge variety of merchandise at great prices and with a highly trained staff. Our story, now almost 40 years in the making, is also theirs.īernie Marcus and Arthur Blank dreamed up The Home Depot from a coffee shop in Los Angeles in 1978. We built The Home Depot for them, to provide them with the products, services and knowledge they need to create the homes of their dreams. Lastly, this change benefits the community, and Epic games, while negatively affecting no one, and yet many people will fight tooth and nail against it, and yet we ironically gained the ability to archive (a.k.a hide) items in our lockers before we ever gained more than 100 presets.Self-reliance. In short, presets have no bearing on server stability. You could have every replay file from every match you've ever played and you will not be limited in any way, and this is also because they are stored locally. These files are not only far larger, but they are unlimited in number. Replay files record all of the data in a given match (within a given radius of the player character) and store far more information than a dozen presets ever could. They are at most kilobytes worth of information. They simply call the game to bring forward information that already exists. Presets store very little to no information. In fact, it lacks any logic whatsoever because it is a purely beneficial change that will only serve to help those who want to get more use out of the skins they own while also not negatively impacting you in any way whatsoever. To say that you not making use of presets means that others can't or should not be able to have more presets that they will use is a logical fallacy. Presets would take up far too much space on the servers if they were unlimited or matched the number of outfits in the game. I don't even use presets so they don't need to add more.Often when the discussion of presets is brought up, people always fall into one of two categories: It is an objectively good idea to make presets unlimited.
